She's on thin ice . . .

Detective Rocki Bangli has spent the past four months undercover, trying to get the goods on drug lord Darrell Archer. Infiltrating deeper than anyone has before, detective Rocki Bangli is hoping to wrap up her undercover investigation into casino operator and crime lord, Darrel Archer sooner rather than later. When she is ordered out out on a job for him, with instructions to use whatever 'favors' necessary to gain information, she is surprised to find her targets the men from the Beaumont Body shop. Not only a car detailed but also the front of a private investigation company. One of the targets is Kane Archer, nephew of Darrel, with whose girlfriend she had a run in not too long ago. Another is the delicious blond tall and hot drink, Tony Weston, who doesn't waste any time claiming her attention.

What are the odds that the woman who has featured in every lusty dream over the past year, is standing right before him. The fact that she doesn't remember him from the police academy, or that just about everything out of her mouth is a lie, doesn't bother Tony Weston in the least. Whatever it is she is doing, whatever trouble she is in, he is determined to find out. He has waited long enough for an opportunity to make his move and now that she has fallen in his lap, he is not about to let Rocki walk off.............continued

Josie Dean could not believe it. Two years after disappearing on her, without explanation or goodbye, Josie is once again face to face with her husband, Shane Dean, in a hospital room. Apparently, he cannot remember a thing......not who she is, or where he has been, what he has done or why he left her 2 years before. Josie wants to be angry at him, but Shane was found by police at a crime scene, badly beaten and police had used his identification to track her down. Someone has to take care of him.....at least for now.

Their marriage had been whirlwind and lasted only 2 months before Shane had taken off. This was right after he had received some bad news about his family........Josie had not even been aware he had any family. He never discussed any of his past with her and so she had assumed he had no one, like her, but suddenly he was talking about brothers. Next thing she knows he was gone. Josie has just now started to come up for air and here he was, somehow back in her life........continued

With six weeks left before his and his brothers' time ran out, genetically engineered military 'secret weapon' Matt Dean was hot on the trail of the one doctor who might be able to save his and his family's lives. The trail leads him right to Charmed, Idaho, where he ends up wounded in an alley behind a bar, where he is discovered by the bar owner. A small green-eyed beauty who, after 'rescuing' him, promptly faints at the sight of his blood.

Who would you say are your biggest influences, as a writer?

Debra
Definitely my family and life in general. I was given the advice early on in my career to write what you know and love, because your readers will be able to tell if you love the book or not. I think that's true, so a lot of my experiences and the people I'm with every day influence every book.

Rebecca:
-I’d have to say my family and close friends are my biggest influences as a writer.  Sure, I’ve read a lot of books to study craft, and I enjoy reading, but books are about characters.  I’m surrounded by characters.  J  The way people interact, and the way people react to situations can create wonderful fictional stories.  In studying craft, I read Nora Roberts, Dean Koontz, J.D. Salinger, and Jennifer Apodaca.

If you couldn't write, what would you be doing?

Debra
-I'd be a rock star, but I can't sing or dance. I've also thought it would be fun to give love advice to people like Lucy from the Peanuts cartoon. But in reality, I've been a wife and mom for so long, I'd probably stick with that.

Rebecca
-I just gave up my day job as a college professor (teaching law) in order to write full time.  So the easy answer is that I’d be either teaching or still practicing law.  But to be honest, I’d probably be going back to school to study something entirely new like genetics or quantum physics.  Writing is the first job that has kept be interested and entertained beyond a couple of years.  Or maybe the other jobs were just a way to get me to do what I really want to do, which is to write.

At what point did you decide that writing would be your career focus?

Debra
-When my kids were older and I had more time to do what I enjoyed, I decided to give publishing a book an honest shot. Before that, I thought it was something that would never happen. I was very fortunate that the first book I submitted was accepted six weeks after I sent it in.

Rebecca:
-This is a great question, and one I haven’t thought about before.  The minute I finished writing my first book in early 2009, I decided that writing was the path for me.  I had great hopes, and I knew it could be a rough path, yet I finally felt like I was doing what I was meant to do.  I don’t know how to quit, so I just kept going until everything came together.

What is it about the Alpha male, that makes all of us wobbly at the knees??

Debra
-Oh man, if I knew that answer I'd make a million dollars. They're bossy and possessive, but when all that attitude and attention is directed at us, it's about the best thing in life. If I had to sum it up, it's their confidence in themselves that we find appealing. To know an alpha male can and will protect your heart is a powerful feeling.

Rebecca:
-You know, I think this question has many different answers because we all react to something different.  Some people like the challenge of an Alpha, some enjoy soothing the wounded soul of an Alpha.  For me?  I know that the world is a dangerous place, and I really like the idea of a tough guy not only standing betweenme and danger, but being completely confident he can handle it.  That’s both reassuring and sexy to me.

Do your family members; husbands, children, mothers (eeeek), etc., ever read your books?? If so, what was their reaction??

 Debra
-My sons have no interest in romance books, but have no problem bragging me up to their friends. My daughter, who is 23, will read them and has helped with spotting areas in the plot that need work when I can't see past the story. Wheels has never read any of them, but I've read parts to him and I talk about the characters all the time. I think he's more interested in what I put in the sex scene than he is overall storyline…typical male, huh? My mom reads every single one and is my biggest fan. It helps that she has always read romance books, so once she got past her daughter writing sex, she looks forward to each one.

Rebecca:
-Most of my family reads my books, including my husband, although I don’t think he reads all of them.  He’s either in full motion doing something, or he’s asleep…so sitting down and reading isn’t really his style.  My kids are too young for my books, but my mom and sisters read them all, as does my mother in law.  I don’t think my dad actually reads the books, but he displays them in his law office.  J
