As one of the Masters of Club Sin, Aidan Knight has been able to function his way through the last five years since his traumatic loss. But it wasn't until the last year or two that he actually has felt the heaviest of his grief lifting and the life seeping back into his veins. It has been that long that he has been playing exclusively with Cora, the submissive he was asked to train and found a safe connection with.

Almost from the start, Cora Adams felt a strong draw to the sad Dom who had been assigned to train her and before long she willingly limited herself  to play with him alone. Their connection in a scene is intense and only gets stronger over time, but the sad and detached curtain drops back down over Aidan's demeanour the moment the scene ends. Cora's feelings are lasting and she is patient.

But two years is a long time to keep a secret when you are involved in an emotionally and physically intimate relationship, however narrowly defined, and once the boundaries start to blur, the walls around the true feelings are difficult to contain. Aidan is at a loss and needs to find out what his sub is struggling with, even though the answer will blindside him....

*****

A beautifully written erotic BDSM novel, exploring the delicate connection between a Dom and his sub and the importance of honesty and truth in that relationship.

The delicate yet perfectly explicit way with which 'the scenes' are described are simply breathtaking.....and in more ways than one. Highly erotic, incredibly visual yet at the same time not losing one bit of poetic quality, despite the use of explicit and descriptive language.
It speaks of a true appreciation if not love for the subject of Ms. Kennedy's writing.

Cora is an amazingly strong and giving individual who is in effect, a perfect submissive. Entirely giving of herself and patiently awaiting to be given what she trusts will be hers to have eventually. But time and some evidence to the contrary causes her to waver in her conviction and the relationship with her Dom starts to crack.

Aidan is an attentive and caring Dom who is on his game while in a scene with Cora, but not comfortable with his emotions outside of it. He is so entrenched in his role as Dom, he has never considered that he does not have all the answers, that in fact, he might be the one with the problems. He was coping.

The story line was emotionally complex, requiring a bit of psychological insight on the part of the reader. This isn't a quick and simple read, nor is it a 'little hot number'! Don't get me wrong....it's plenty hot, but there is some serious depth here that requires brainpower.

More than I expected.......

✨Voluptuous, powerful and mesmerizing ✨
