This is the second book in the Declan Brother's series. Slate is the middle brother but no less hot and sexy as his big brother Jax.
Rayna has come back to the Boyou will full intentions of breaking this Declan just as he did to her all those years ago. They were best friends turned lovers, until that one night. Rayna choose to move on but Slate has always been there in the back of her mind. When she finally gets her chance to connection with Slate she does not like what she sees. Making it her mission to get him back to the man she knows he can be before she breaks his heart like he did hers all those years before.
Slate is not in a good place since the fire he has been on a downward spiral. Not thinking about the people he was hurting in the process. His brothers put up and do the best they can but... when he finds out Rayna is back in town this just adds to his defenses. When Rayna steps in to try and help him onto the other path, Slate decides he has other plans. He wants to remind her of what they had and what they could have if she would just trust him again.
The passion between Rayna and Slate is something completely owned by them and it doesn't matter if they are fighting or fucking. Ms Gendron does a superb job of drawing you into her characters, you understand their feelings while reading her books. This series has been a fun read so far but I think I am most excited to get to see inside Zeke and understand the man we have seen glimpses of.
